THE MONUMENT is the limited edition for a route that needs more room. It is made from your own activity data, with the terrain given its deepest relief and strongest vertical expression. The line you covered is raised across it in the highest relief we make.

Every Monument is made as a numbered edition and recorded accordingly. An archival backer print holds the event details behind the relief. The work is finished in a heavier black wood frame with clear acrylic glazing, a French cleat for hanging, and presentation packaging.

We begin with your .gpx or .fit file. Before anything is made, you receive a first look showing the route, terrain area, and printed details. Nothing moves to the bench until you say it is right. The final piece is built, hand-finished, inspected, and packed in our Central Arkansas studio.

What you provide

Upload a .gpx or .fit file and provide the event details for the backer. For multi-day routes, multiple files, or a special format, contact the studio before ordering.

We accept .gpx and .fit files exported from Garmin, Wahoo, Strava, COROS, Suunto and most other devices. Nearly every device and app can export one of the two.

We use your file to build your piece and for nothing else. We do not sell it, and we do not publish it. You can ask us to delete it at any time. See Route Data & Privacy.

Before anything is printed you receive a first look showing the route, the terrain area, and every printed detail on the backer. Nothing moves to the bench until you say it is right.

Two rounds of revisions are included. Full terms are in the Custom Order Terms.

Production begins once you sign off on the first look and takes 7 business days. Every piece is built, finished, inspected and packed by hand in Central Arkansas.

Pieces ship in a rigid printed box with a fitted insert. Shipping terms are in the Shipping Policy.

Available in several framed formats, listed in the size selector above. Each piece is set in a black wood frame with glazing, and arrives with hanging hardware fitted.

The relief is surface-mounted to the front of the glazing so the terrain reads as a physical object rather than something behind a window.

Because each piece is made from your route data it cannot be resold, so custom orders are final once you sign off on the first look. You can cancel within 24 hours of signing off.

If a piece arrives damaged or does not match the first look you signed off on, we remake it. Report it within 7 days of delivery. See the Return & Refund Policy.

The relief is printed, the route line raised off the terrain, the backer printed and the whole assembly mounted and framed in the studio.

Materials and construction

Made at the bench, checked by hand.

Every piece is a physical assembly, not a print of one. The terrain is modelled from real elevation data and printed in three dimensions, the route line is raised off the terrain, and the relief is surface-mounted to the front of the glazing so it reads as an object rather than an image.
